Blue Sky Marketing is a family-owned business that has been helping clients shine for 20 years. We were so excited to have the opportunity to work with the Los Angeles Lakers. This one-of-a-kind event was for the famous basketball player, Kobe Bryant who was retiring and the Los Angeles Lakers wanted to provide a memorable Kobe Bryant keepsake for the fans to have at his retirement game.
The IDEA:
This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us to be able to design the memorable Lifebook for Kobe Bryant’s retirement. The team at Blue Sky Marketing was up to the challenge to design and print this memory book of Kobe’s basketball life.
The MISSION:
After numerous product meetings and fine-tuning of what would represent Kobe Bryant best and what his fans would love and keep for years wes the following: A full-color Kobe Bryant Lifebook. With over 30 pages of full-color basketball action shots from his youth to current, to a specially designed pull-out poster displaying the name Kobe with special action images of Kobe throughout his life of basketball.
Sounds simple, but we took the extra steps to pick just the right paper for the book, carefully designing the layout of the pictures to represent the history of Kobe and then the special expertise to get the paper pre-folded to prevent creases from impacting the images and doing a gloss layover on the images so they would stand out against the plain background making Kobe look like he is coming off the pages.
The second just as memorable product that we created was a 10×12 Lenticular printed photo of action shots of Kobe that the basketball fans could frame and enjoy for years to come.
The RESULT:
Over 22,000 books were given away to those attending Kobe’s last game. The Lifebook and Lenticular photo to represent the retirement of Kobe Bryant was an enormous success. The Los Angeles Lakers were very pleased with the entire project and were overwhelmed by how well-received these memorable items were by the fans!
When a fan can take a product home and proudly display and have it as a keepsake for years to come – that is a win-win for our client!
