Klean Kateen

A true leader in the industry, Klean Kanteen was the first to sell a BPA-free stainless-steel water bottle in 2004 and has since grown to become an international brand in a rapidly growing industry.

In 2018, Klean introduced its own powder coat finish, Klean Coat, ultimately creating a new standard in durability and safety for people and the planet. Last year Klean Kanteen made its biggest move yet and began manufacturing products with certified 90% post-consumer recycled 18/8 steel, a first in the reusable drinkware industry. This will result in a 50% reduction in steel greenhouse gas emissions, a 30% reduction in energy demand, and a 60-80% reduction in ecosystem impacts.

With a focus on environmental stewardship, Klean Kanteen is a B Corporation, a proud 1% For The Planet member, and Climate Neutral Certified. Working closely with values-aligned companies and organizations, Klean Kanteen supports efforts towards health, reducing single-use plastic, and environmental education and awareness.

What only some know is that Klean Kanteen is a family and employee-owned company, it is co-owned by siblings Michelle Kalberer and Jeffrey Ferrian. Michelle has played a significant role in the growth and success of the company, and her contributions to the company as a leader have been instrumental in shaping the company’s culture and mission.

Klean Kanteen works with their manufacturing partners and supply chain experts to ensure working conditions at factories where Klean products are made are consistent with recognized standards such as the ETI Base Code and ILO International Labor Standards for safety, fair labor, ethical business practices and environmental responsibility.

Their

manufacturing partners maintain management systems that meet high standards of quality (ISO 9001 and ISO/TS 16949) and environmental responsibility (ISO 14001).
